After a chance encounter with the Babylon Dance Band, Malignant Growth was formed in 1979. After several years spearheading the Louisville hardscore scene, they became Fading Out, playing in a harder rock style, then broke up. Palace Records released their album in 1995. Band members went on to play in Kinghorse, Rising Shotgun, Arch and Brett Eugene Ralph's Kentucky Chrome Revue.
